I bought this book for additional reference for some research that I am working on. It is an older book with hand drawn thin section pictures but has a lot of great information. The seller for this book (it was used) put a very good description about how the book condition was and shipped it right away.
I Cited by: I bought the book thinking of original version. But the seller is selling the xerox copy. None of the photographs are coloured. And the CD rom doesn't have the soft copy of the book. It's a usual guide for Petrography with poor quality and blurred pictures.
Very disappointed with the quality of the book/5(14). Additional Physical Format: Online version: Zubkov, V.V. General petrography. Moscow, Mir Publishers, (OCoLC) Document Type: Book: All Authors. Abstract. Study of General petrography book petrology is a basic necessity to geological sciences. Igneous rocks—intrusive (plutonic) and extrusive (volcanic)—are natural products of crystallization, cooling and solidification of magma originated from the deepest parts of the Earth and represent the original source for sedimentary and metamorphic counter components.
Petrography is an important skill for many geologists. It is used as an aid in making geologic maps, in sample collection for detailed studies in disciplines like theoretical petrology and mineralogy, and in a variety of applied fields such as geological engineering, mineral exploration, and fuels Range: $ - $ Petrography of Sedimentary Rocks in the Slick Rock District, San Miguel and Dolores Counties, Colorado By DANIEL R.

Pearson Coal Petrography provides microscopic evaluations of coking coals, steam coals, metallurgical cokes, and carbons, from state-of-the-art laboratories located in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
Vitrinite Reflectance. Petrography is an important component of forensic engineering and provides insight into the underlying causes of performance failures for a variety of materials including concrete, brick, block, and stone masonry, mortar, wood and glass.
Investigations of concrete failures often pose specific challenges because of variations in mix design, quality of construction, and in-place service.
A petrography number is assigned to the specimen, and the master number is recorded in the logbook, as are all other identification marks that accompany the specimen. Petrography specimen numbers are preceded with a P, e.g., P Petrography is probably the only accepted method to determine many of the cause(s) of concrete deterioration that are related to durability.
